Tempted

Round these sandy shores i knew as a young boy
I found my mind at ease, i found safety in the sea
those were the days so beautiful and serene
long before the crashing and violent breeze

loneliness she came knocking on my window
whispering was it all worth saving?
was she all worthwhile?

darling, come out here you must be grieving

tempted by the night
such a perilous sky
from the wind, of the wound
that took my eye

Then morning came around and i said,
are you ready for the sun?
oh are you ready for the sea?
well down here I’m all alone but happy as can be

For now these changes keep us fine
and in the weather and the wine
I screamed into the darkness
there ain’t no wrong
there ain’t no right

darling, come out here you must be grieving

tempted by the night
such a perilous sky
from the wind, of the wound
that took my eye

tempted by the light
such a beautiful sight
from the wind, of the wound
that took my eye
