la torre de hércules

--

Our beloved hapless sands
towing the straight and narrow
spring came by too early
murmuring seaside sparrows

Then came the autumn all red arrayed
my young heart strewn
before daylight’s fade

I’m the fortress of Hercules
enduring your relentless wave
a swooping harrier
gliding patient and brave
yet today,
I’m the mouse, scurrying
running wildly
back to you

On a frightful Monday morning
blazing, blistering wind
still looking over my shoulder
bad dreams within

do you feel it?
endlessly
